Dark Tea is the special produce of Chinese Hunan Province. It is originated in the Anhua County of Hunan. Anhua County is located in the Wuling Mountains, where is a good place to produce tea.
This is a tea factory in Anhua producing Dark Tea.
1 The Dark tea need grown tea leaf to make. It is one bud three leaves to five leaves.
2, This is the drum frying machine for killing 杀青.
3 After Killing, the tea will undergo rolling
3. These wooden boxes are used for piling of the tea leaves after rolling. This is the critical processing of Dark Tea, which differs from green tea. The piling will last around eight hours. And the pile will be covered by cotton cloth to rise the heat in the pile.
4 After piling, the tea will be rolled for one more time. Then it is sent for drying.
5 This is the Dark Tea mao cha. It will be kept in the warehouse. In many cases, the mao cha will be kept for around one year before further processing.
6. This is the Tian Jian 天尖 made by selected material from the mao cha. They are tightly packed in one bamboo basket. It will be kept for a few years before open up for consumption to achieve the vintage effect.
7. This is the Qian Liang Cha 千两茶.
8. This is the Fuzhuan Cha. One special fungi, Jinhua 金花 is inoculated and grow in Fuzhuan. The fungi effect is very good to human health.
