Huang Cao Ba is a quite isolated village in Jinggu County of Pu-erh Region. It is around 100km away from the county town of Jinggu. A 60km small bumpy and muggy road in the forestry is the way to this small village with residents around 700. A big area of old tea trees grows in Huang Cao Ba at the altitude around 1800m. The old tea tree in Huang Cao Ba is special in that it is medium small leaf, unlike the big leaf tea as most of the other Yunnan teas. The tea leaf is cute oval and looks like cat ear. The tea of Huang Cao Ba had ever been tributed to the emperors in Qing Dynasty. So local farmers call the tea Mao Er Duo Gong Cha (Cat Ear Tribute Tea). The pu-erh tea of huang cao ba has very sweet aftertaste. And it is often commented as the tea with sweetest aftertaste of Yunnan.
