Tangerine Pu-erh is a new hot tea in China in recent years. It is made by pu-erh tea (shu) and tangerine peel. The tangerine peel (陈皮) is produced in Xinhui of Guangdong. In Chinese medicine, tangrine peel is good for digestion and coughing. And the pu-erh tea is also good for digestion and nourishing stomach. The mild mellow taste of shu pu-erh and the refreshing citrus flavor also match very well.
The tangerine is growing in Xinhui of Guangdong. It is harvested in July and August, when the tangerine is just semi-grown. (Even it turns mature in October, the tangerine fruit is still very sour. But its peel color will turn red.)
After harvesting, the pulp of tangerine is dug out for later filling in with pu-erh tea.
The pu-erh tea was filled in the empty tangerine.
The tangerine pu-erh can be either dried naturally outdoor or be dried by machine.
It is wrapped in paper. one piece weight around 10g. and just good for one brewing. (Nowadays there are also tangerine pu-erh made by mature tangerine. Its color is red and size is bigger, weight max to 50g per pcs.)
It is a very nice naturally flavored tea!
