April.4th is the Qingming Festival. It is in Lin An of Hangzhou, the harvesting of the 2025 new crop Long Jing just came to the 3rd day. Due to the the low temperature in the end of March, the harvesting of most of the Chinese Spring new teas were postponed for around 10 days by estimate.
The garden is in Tianmushan of Lin An, and located in the elevation of 800m. It was built in 1980s and conformed to organic farming.
The tea cultivar planted in this garden is Jiu Keng Qun Ti Zhong
The weather in this Qingming is quite sunny clear, and the air is dry.
The tea germinated much later than previous years. In Qingming, the buds and leaves are still quite sparse.
One picker can only harvest around 1-1.5kg of fresh material per day. The yield is very low for now
This is the earliest harvesting organic Long Jing.
The quality is really nice due to the good weather in these days. And also the organic manure fertilizer fosters excellent tea quality content. The brewing gives the classic stir-fried beans aroma and the deep sweet aftertaste lingers.
