We had been producing shu puerh by pure old tree material since 2022. It was very successful. The tea has pure clean taste, sweet date flavor and very smooth. They were highly praised by the puerh tea drinkers. However our pursuit of tea quality is endless. We plan to produce an even better batch by using all early Spring harvest from ancient tea trees of Mi Feng Shan, as we know the tea from Spring harvest has deeper taste than later harvesting. And to achieve more harmonious balance of flavor and taste, we decided to blend in 50% of materials from Bai Ying Shan this time.
Part Ⅰ The preparation of material from Mi Feng Shan.
The production of Mi Feng Shan material lasted from Apr.5 to Apr.18. The elevation of tea garden is around 2050m-2100m. The age of tea tree varies from around 100 years to 400 years. Shao’s family is leading the tea farmers cooperative. 1000kg of material was produced.
On May 7, 2025, the material was sent to the processing plant in Yongde for next step processing, pile fermentation (Wo Dui).
Part Ⅱ The preparation of material from Bai Ying Shan.
The production of Bai Ying Shan material lasted from Apr.10 to Apr.25. The elevation of tea garden is around 2050m. The age of tea tree varies from around 80 years to 250 years. Luo’s family is leading the tea farmers cooperative. 1000kg of material was produced.
On May 8, 2025, the material was sent to the processing plant in Yongde for next step processing, pile fermentation (Wo Dui). The distance from Bai Ying Shan to Yongde is around 280km. So we chose post office to send the tea.
